Dave Gibson joined the faculty of the University of Florida in 1974. His specialties within Geomatics include Land Information Systems and Professional Surveying and Mapping Practice. At present, Dave is an Associate Professor and is leading the distance education Initiative of the Geomatics Program in the School of Forest Resources and Conservation.  He conducts research and teaches courses in many of the various aspects of Geomatics. Dr. Gibson is licensed as a Professional Surveyor and Mapper in the State of Florida and serves as a program evaluator in the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology.  He was also appointed to a national study panel on "The Future of Surveying and Mapping Education in the U.S." of ACSM, 1991-present.
