UF Geomatics Distance Education
(SFRC/CALS/IFAS) Course: SUR 2101
Geomatics (Fall’07) Subtitle: Intro to
Surveying Measurements and Computations Course Description: Credits: 3; Introduction to
angle, distance and elevation measurement, as applied to engineering,
boundary location, topography, forest management and construction. Additional topics:
Measurement error theory, COGO, calculator and spreadsheet use. NOTE: This course involves mathematics! --
including algebra, trig, and analytic geometry. But the math coverage will be included
in the course with math review modules.
THIS COURSE IS INTENDED TO BE A "TRANSITION" COURSE FOR
SURVEY PERSONNEL DESIRING TO APPROACH A SURVEYING DEGREE. Lab Included: If you are within a
commuting radius of our new Geomatics programs in Software Requirement: Each distance education student must have access to high speed Internet, the Excel program in Microsoft Office, and a trig calculator. Registration Instructions: 1. You must be a registered UF student to
take this class, however, there is a shorthand process for
“non-degree” students.
