To Create a New dgn (design)
file |

Open MicroStation §
The first thing that will pop up is the
MicroStation Manager. Go under File
à New to
create a new file. §
This will pop up another dialogue box as shown below
to create the new design file.

Hit the Select button on the bottom
right corner to select the seed file.
Be sure to save the class seed file available on the course website
under the Files link in your folder under the Public Directory before hand. http://www.geomatics.ifas.ufl.edu/sur4201l/files/index.htm (sur4201seed.dgn)

Next step is to name your file and go to the proper
directory to save it. i.e. C:\public\ur_folder. At this point, your dialogue box should
look something like the one shown below.
Now hit OK. This will take u back to the MicroStation
Manager where you should see your file name that you just created and the
directory u want to save it on. Hit OK
and will open up your new dgn file.
